PART TIME Accounts Payable Assistant

Position Overview:

As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring prompt payments to suppliers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the accounts payable processes, possess excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to upholding high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing – Receive, review, and process invoices accurately and efficiently using Xero & Dext software, adhering to VAT regulations.

  • Supplier Relations – Communicate effectively with suppliers to address enquiries and resolve payment issues. Establish and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers. Resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal parties.

  • Prepare and maintain weekly payment schedules, in a timely manner ready for payment by the Finance Manager.

  • Reconcile payments made to suppliers and maintain Aged Payables reports.

  • Assist in month-end activities related to Accounts Payable.

  • Willingness to learn other areas of the accounts function to cover annual leave etc.

  • 1 year experience working in an Accounts Payable role – Desirable

  • Proficient IT skills – Essential

  • Experience of using Excel, Xero, Dext etc. – Desirable

  • Experience of working within Hospitality – Desirable

  • Studying towards AAT or equivalent qualification - Essential
